With its powerful engines and advanced features, the Chevy Corvette has excited drivers for the last seventy years. In 2024, fans have another reason to be excited as the Corvette E-Ray has officially made its debut! This new version of the beloved Corvette comes with a removable roof coupe or a hardtop convertible. Electrification enhances your overall driving experience and gives you a more straight-line performance, which combines nicely with its all-weather performance and sure-footed touring capabilities that you have come to expect from the Corvette. In addition, the E-Ray is the fastest Corvette in history, as it can go from 0-60 in 2.5 seconds or less while doing the quarter-mile in 10.6 seconds. There is much to cover about the Corvette E-Ray; you can learn all about it below!

Unique Design

The first time you look at the E-Ray, you will notice that it shares some of its design cues with the Z06. However, you will also see that its wide wheels accommodate, so the vehicle can efficiently manage torque delivery. The wheels are lightweight alloy with a twisted five-spoke star design exclusive to the E-Ray. Fourteen color choices are also available for the E-Ray, including the new Riptide Blue, Seawolf Gray, and Cacti. You also get optional carbon fiber wheels in a carbon finish, visible carbon fiber finish, or visible carbon fiber with a red stripe. As we move inside the cabin, the E-Ray has a new Artemis Dipped interior that offers you complimentary green tones on every interior surface, and there are a ton of opportunities for drivers to customize their interiors, such as two carbon fiber trim packages, three-seat choices, seven interior colors, and more.

Innovative Stealth Mode

When you get behind the wheel of the Corvette E-Ray, you will notice two driver-initiated electric modes that allow the E-Ray to travel with some electric propulsion in specific scenarios. Performance on the track is also amplified with the electric motor. When you select Stealth Mode, you will get 100% all-electric driving, allowing drivers to quietly exit a neighborhood at a maximum speed of 45 mph. The engine will automatically engage if the E-Ray exceeds the 45 mph limit, additional torque is requested, or the battery pack has been completely drained. If you want to leverage the electrified propulsion system for enhanced track performance, your E-Ray’s eAWD control system will torque the front axle. We should also mention the custom-designed Performance Traction Management system that works with the eAWD propulsion system.

An Electrified Marvel

Every version of the 2024 Corvette E-Ray has an electrified propulsion system designed to give drivers enough power to take corners sharply and effortlessly and pass by vehicles with relative ease. Also, the 2024 E-Ray can provide limited all-electric propulsion available when the driver needs it or when you start the vehicle. The E-Ray also has a standard Active Fuel Management system that uses the electric motor to extend the four-cylinder operation in specific scenarios. Most of the electric assist you get has been tailored toward each of the six driver-selectable modes: Tour, Sport, Track, Weather, My Mode, and Z-Mode. Best of all, there is a Charge+ feature that maximizes the state of charge.

Advanced Tech and Features

No matter what trim of the E-Ray you go with, you will get several advanced features. In addition to the Stealth Mode, which we have already discussed, you also get a lightweight lithium-ion 12-volt battery that supports the LT2 V8 engine’s stop/start capability. Other unique features include standard Brembo Carbon Ceramic brakes and staggered 20 and 21-inch wheels. Inside the cabin are several tech items, such as a visceral sound experience that fully envelop the entire E-Ray and works with the LT2 engine to create a refreshing sound. Several safety features are also available for the E-Ray, including Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Alert, and Automatic Emergency Braking.

Blaze a Trail

Now that you know all the basics of the 2024 Corvette E-Ray, it’s time to look at its ultra-powerful engine! When you turn on the vehicle, you will immediately feel thrust from the low-end torque, which is the core of the Corvette driving experience. Most of the power of the E-Ray comes from its 6.2-liter LT2 small block V8 which will crank out 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. This engine is accompanied by another motor that conjures up an additional 160 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque through its front wheels with the 1.9 kWh battery pack that you will find under the seats. The total output from the E-Ray is 655 horsepower. The engine has an intelligent eAWD adjusts to road surfaces to meet traction needs. It will also provide additional power to the front wheels, enhancing stability. You do not need to plug in the charger for your battery as it is charged via a regenerative energy system achieved through coasting, braking, and everyday driving.
