Whether you are jetting off to your poolside bachelorette, a tropical locale for your weddings, or a beach destination for your honeymoon, a white swimsuit (or two!) should be on your packing list. Moreover, swimwear brands have many bridal-worthy swimsuits, from sexy triangle bikinis to chic one-pieces. Plus, a white swimsuit is something you can wear again, making it a great investment piece for your vacation wardrobe.
We know that shopping for the perfect swimsuit isn’t easy, and you can go through piles of styles and still not find the best fit. Not to mention that trying them on in the dressing room doesn’t always tell you how they will perform in the sand, surf, and sun. So, we did the hard work for you and tested 36 swimsuits over four weeks. During that month, we swam in pools and oceans, sat in hot tubs, took surfing lessons, and applied sunscreen to replicate all the wear-and-tear a suit goes through. We also wrung and washed the bikinis and one-pieces to check for any stretching or loss of shape.
After testing different body types and ages, we determined which swimsuits performed best. We made our final selection based on durability, design, comfort, and quality. Here are our favorite white swimsuits that made the cut.

This swimsuit proves you can have it all: a sexy cut with incredible support and comfort. Don’t let the scoop neck and spaghetti straps fool you—the built-in shelf bra supports an E-cup chest, even during a round of jumping jacks. We wore it to a water park, and the suit stayed in place despite going down the slides. The straps didn’t dig, nor did the medium coverage bottoms crawl up. The fabric didn’t absorb much water and remained light while wet. In addition to 12 different colors, there are three different fabric choices: smooth, ribbed, and eyelet.

If you want a full-coverage swimsuit yet don’t want to look like you borrowed it from your grandmother, we recommend this signature style from Summersalt. Diagonal stripes and ruching work together to elongate your body and elevate this one piece. Plus, the one-shoulder neckline looks extra chic. We felt comfortable wearing this suit both on the beach and in the water, and even when the fabric got wet, it felt supportive and smooth, which is always appreciated. For those with longer torsos, the long torso option finally gave us a suit that fit correctly. It’s important to note that there is no built-in bra, so those with large chests may want to look for a more supportive option, like Andie The Amalfi.

This is the suit for those who prefer a bikini with a high-rise bottom. We found the bottoms to be the perfect balance of support and comfort while highlighting the waist and showing some hip. The V-neck top also supported us while kayaking, yet it looked cute enough for a day by the pool. It may show too much cleavage for those with larger chests, but those under a C-cup loved it. Thanks to the quick dry fabric, the suit took about 20 minutes to dry on our bodies so we could slip on our shorts without waiting forever. After swimming in lakes, pools, and rivers, the fabric didn’t stretch or show any wear or tear. Considering how versatile and durable this two-piece is, the higher price is worth the investment.

It has never failed to keep us comfortable and confident, and we especially loved how the stylish ruched design.

We found that the top is best for those with a C-cup and above—the sewn-in padding provides lift and support, which can feel a little bulky for smaller chests. We recommend Left On Friday Sunday Top if you want to boost your cleavage. Thanks to adjustable neck and back straps, we could easily adjust the size for the best fit. The high-waisted bottoms created an hourglass shape, while the ruching gave us extra confidence. We felt like Marilyn Monroe—in a good way!
Though this isn’t the type of swimsuit we would swim laps in, the double-lined fabric stays in place in the water and is durable enough to withstand the wring test. Not everyone may love the compression and structured fit, but it’s great if you want to look and feel like your favorite pin-up model. You can’t beat the affordable price and wide range of sizes, either.

Does your honeymoon entail more exercise than leisure? Then consider this bikini tee set. We loved wearing this as an alternative to your typical bikini during our surf lessons. Subtle yet sturdy stitching supported our girls, and the crop top hit our torso at the ideal place. We didn’t have to tug it up or down while wearing it, and it didn’t become heavy or cumbersome once it got wet.
The high-waisted bottoms provided ample coverage, allowing us to feel cute and comfortable in front of others. While the set is a bit pricey, we think the high-quality materials warrant it. Thick and durable, it felt surprisingly buttery and lightweight. Honeymoons are all about convenience, and you can easily go from the beach to dinner with this top.

A bandeau that stays in place may sound like an oxymoron, but Londre makes the impossible possible. The top has a silicone strip along the edge, which gently grips the skin. No matter if we were diving into the pool or lounging by the beach, the top didn’t move. While it’s unpadded, it’s double-lined and shows off the shape of your chest, thus avoiding that dreaded uni-boob. The bottoms are unlike any we’ve seen before. Technically, they are high-waisted, but the scrunch leg and high leg make them very cheeky.
For those who don’t like full-coverage bottoms, these were the perfect compromise for occasions when we didn’t want to wear a thong. Made from recycled plastic bottles, the fabric has a luxurious knit-like feel. Since it’s thicker than other swimsuits, it doesn’t get soggy or weighed down while wet, and the color hasn't faded from the sun or chlorine. This is our top choice if you're looking for a stylish bandeau that you can be sporty in.

What to Look for in a White Bathing Suit
- Style: Before buying your swimsuit, you want to consider what you’ll be doing while wearing it and your personal style. If you are shopping for a suit to wear on an adventurous honeymoon, you may want to go with more functional styles. A rash guard is especially great for watersports, where you’ll spend hours in the water and sun. On the other hand, if you plan to spend more time lying by the water than in it, you can opt for less sporty designs that offer more in the fashion department.
- Texture: Different textures can make two white swimsuits look completely different—from smooth matte to chunky crochet to subtle ribbing. "Texture is key in swimwear right now, which bodes well for those seeking out white," says Jennifer Pennington, a multi-channel swimwear buyer for Nordstrom. "Ribbed, pucker, crochet, and eyelet fabrics provide support while double linings and cups with padding will help combat any see-through issues."
- Material: Swimsuits can cost upwards of $200, which may sound like a ton for such a small amount of fabric, but you are paying for the quality of the material. We’ve all tried cheaper swimsuits that became flimsy, transparent, or soggy once wet. Pay special attention to the fabric to ensure you can wear your suit more than once. "Look for a high-quality fabric, lining, and construction," says Suzanne Bryant, vice president of women’s swim and resort wear at Tommy Bahama. If you want a suit to provide shapewear-like sculpting, look for a controlling power mesh liner to prevent see-through issues and smooth the stomach.
