I have not attended this beautiful church (.the rating is for their friendliness and the churches beauty in architecture and Carillon and landscape). however it is a Presbyterian church just so you know what to expect but I have been informed the church was designed and named in such a way that Christian's from all branches of the faith meaning all denominations would feel welcome to attend . It has a giant gothic Carillon for a steeple. So you'd expect lots of beautiful bell music on a Sunday or at a wedding. It would be a beautiful spot for a wedding . Just beautiful. The bench by the water is really a alter cause it's the perfect place outside to kneel down and pray.

In fairness, I came here during the shift of power. There was a interim pastor. Then they hired an interim interim pastor... didn't know that existed. They found a full time pastor, but in the mean time the rest of the pastoral staff quit or got fired.

In the year I was there, I never felt welcome. Part of it was the exited pastoral staff with whom I had a run in. But part of my rating is because the church patrons seem way unwelcoming... from an outsiders (but member's) perspective.

My old/new church is so friendly I couldn't go back to the Kirk.

It is beautiful, but it is just not friendly.

Gorgeous church, wonderful choir, and welcoming people. Now I've learned there's another reason to return,..they have weekly church tours!

I am pretty sure you might go to hell for giving a church a bad review...but no worries here, the KIRK is AWESOME. Beautiful lakeside location and a great historical story to go along with the beauty (do the tour someday). They have a PHENOMENAL choir program (starting with a Young Childrens Choir-anything cuter than a 3 year old singing in the Sunday service?). Also a wonderful youth ministry (my oldest child has gone on missionary trips with them the past few years). A wonderful church for the entire family.

      First to Review

Can I Yelp a church? We're about to find out. Recently attended my second wedding at "The Kirk" and they know how to do it right. (Well, not MY second wedding - you get the picture.) The place is beautiful and the staff clearly are wedding pros. They do what they can to create a little drama of the event. Can't comment on the regular services though, but my friend and his family have been long-time members of the congregation.
