European Norton Chopper

I love This beautiful chopper named “Walton”, one of the last weekend’s top 5 winners in the “Freestyle Class” Of the AMD European Championship Of Bike Building in Mainz.

Built in Austria, its platform is a 1972 Norton Commando 850 cc engine and Norton 4-speed transmission housed in a shop hand made frame with a 43-degree rake. Not too fast, but very light (gas tank, rear fender, seat are polished aluminum), it rolls on 2 x 21″ wheels dressed in Avon Speedmaster and brakes via a Grimeca drum brake in front and a sprocket brake in the rear. Shop owners Bernhard Naumann and Martin Lagler fabricated the awesome stainless steel Girder type front end and the exhaust system. A very stylish 70’s era cruise.   Blech & Drueber.     I saw this bike in Daytona at Willy’s….the details on this thing are incredible!!!!!

    My memory is that he said there was 1500 hours in it!

    insane detail…rear hydrualic brakes acuated by a bare cable running outside the frame to a hidden rear master in front of the rear tire…very cool bike..details were amazing..

    I missed this bike at Willies but caught it in Mainz at the AMD European show. Lots of cool stuff there but this bike was what all the buzz was about. It didn’t matter where folks were from this bike was considered head and shoulders above the rest.

    Did they make the rear sprocket from an old indexer plate ?
